Final PSAT Post

I finished the book prior to our previous post. It was a really good book, because it kept me wanting to read more to know what was going to happen. I don’t know if it was very beneficial, because I always keep an extra book on me anyways. It was beneficial in the aspect hat I found a really good book.

I just finished my book about 3 days ago. To sum it up, there was a girl named Bella who moves in with her dad because her mom and step father were constantly moving. While with her dad in Forks, she meets a boy named Edward. They end up falling in love and it isn’t soon before she realizes that he is a vampire. She learns the ways of the bad vampires when she almost dies trying to save her mother from one. At the end of the book, Edward takes Bella to the prom and they promise each other that their love will last forever. The one thing that Bella still doesn't like is that she wants to be a vampire as well so that she can stay with Edward forever.

Twilight- Character Post

The main character of my book is Isabella, but she goes by Bella. She had to move away from he mother and step-father, because they traveled a lot; and moved in with her father in a town called Forks. She seems to get along with everyone, but there is one person she really likes. His name is Edward, and she soon finds out that he is a Vampire, and for some reason she can’t seem to stop thinking about him. For some reason she isn’t afraid of him, like everyone else is/should be.

My first impression of the book was that it would be interesting; especially being that a lot of my friends recommended it to me. Currently, the book takes place in a place called Forks. The main character is moving from her mother house, to her father’s house. I like it this far, because I don’t know what to expect. I like books that I have to continue reading because I’m not able to guess what is going to happen.

Akeelah and the Bee

I did enjoy the movie, especially being that it was very suspenseful. I liked the ending, because I didn’t expect it to end that way. I was expecting Dylan to win, and I really wasn’t expecting Dylan’s dad to suddenly become emotional. Words could possibly help me to sound smart in an interview; as well it could help with PSAT testing.

Akeelah and the Bee

A word I have never heard before that was mentioned in the movie was rhesus, the name for some kind of monkey. One strategy Akeelah uses to learn new words, is to learn them 'on beat'. Being that she says each letter rhythmically.

Busted- Setting

The main setting of this book is in a very expensive school called Hereford. The time period is somewhat recent being that the grammar they use is recognizable, and it was published in 2004. Some of the other locations include a police department (where everything began), and the main characters home (where the story began). All of these locations are listed in the front of the book where the problem takes place. (pgs.3-21)

Busted-Character Post

In the book I’m reading one of the main suspects is a dynamic character, being the he has changed greatly since the beginning of the book. The character’s name is Jon. At first he was content with himself and not wanting anything to do with anyone else. But towards the end of the book, he is viewed as someone in which the narrator can potentially have a crush on. In addition, he is more open with the narrator in showing his feelings, and his current thoughts.

So far, I think this book is quite interesting. I like how funny the narrator/main character is. As well I like how in depth she is about how she is feeling and why she is feeling that way. Another thing I like about the book thus far is that the main character, Kim Stratford, is very funny.
